The 24 Solar Terms (Nijushi Sekki) are a traditional East Asian calendar system,

developed in China and introduced to Japan, that divides the year into 24 specific points,

known as sekki (節) and chūki (中気), marking subtle shifts in seasons, weather, and agricultural activities.
